...it has been snowing here almost everyday for about two weeks. We have about 2 feet on the ground with 40mph winds blowing it around. About 1/4 mile visibility out the window here right now at about. KGRR is closed down for the time being.

But, I have finally finished working on the shop and I will (re)start on the empennage tonight or tomorrow.

Great building weather!

Bad weather means a very productive day in the shop!

When the weather is perfect, I have to decide between flying, playing with the kids, or building. It usually goes 10% flying, 80% playing with the kids, and 10% building.

Lately here the weather has been pretty good, so I have not been doing much building. We need more snow so I can get back into the shop!

Sounds like

Sounds like the airport designator should be KBRRRRRR not GRR.

There's a reason I live in Texas.
Partly cloudy skies and currently 50F.

Keep building!

Doug,
We got a pretty good dusting Wednesday night in Graham too. Here's a quick shot out my back window. Taken 7am Thursday morning.

Vagaries of WX

Meanwhile, Melbourne Australia- and the country in general- is in the grip of the worst drought on record. In a country that is mostly desert in normal years.
In the state of Victoria we have bushfires that have been burning for three months and have burnt out 2,000,000 acres of prime eucalypt forest.
Today is forecast to be 30?C (86?F) and tomorrow 38?C (100?F)

Great Wx for flying, but my MT prop has been away in Germany for a mod to prevent flexing of the tips, which had cracked the LE protection Strips. And I can't go riding because I sold my BMW Bike to pay for the prop.
Still! It isn't snowing.
Pete.

More snow...

...and the snow has kept up all day. We have had blizzard conditions for most of the day. There is a tree line about 600 feet from my back windows and it was snowing and blowing so hard I could not see them for much of the day. Oddly enough, this storm has only affected about five counties here. The rest of the state is experiencing nothing unusual.

I'd rather have snow over what we are getting. -6F now with windchills at -20F to -30F.

Can you say Frozen Tundra??!

John,

My Sr. year at WMU in '84 we had snows over 28" three mondays in a row. You couldn't get to the stores before they would run out of beer.

Also, I liked that dusting of snow you would get every morning.

Oh, now I remember why I live in Charlotte, NC now.

Cold Ones?

You couldn't get to the beer store before they ran out? Uh, Bill......I can see how that was a HUGE problem! :D

Do you want snow?

Just waiting for this to get "organized" a little better. Lake snow event getting going east of Lake Ontario tonight into Sunday. Predicting snowfall rates of 2-4 inches per hour with totals of up to 4 feet or more by late Sunday. Doppler images at www.9wsyr.com Green is moderate snowfall and yellow is heavy. Skis anyone?

You have no idea what a HUGE problem it was! You didn't think I would study did you? Lets see; chem, EE, physics, materials or beer? The fluid dynamics homework won every time!
