Yep, they were there, in building A or B, can't remember. For a certified bird, that would be the ticket, but for experiementals, even with and old steam gauge panel, that screen size is a limiting factor.

It's only 3 1/8" by 3 1/8"....

Yep, that's what I mean. The instrument fits a 3 1/8" round hole and the display is a whole bunch smaller than that.

The other MFD's put the display outside the hole, so you can get a much larger display. I'd hate to try to use something like that when in the bumps... But that's just my opinion.

Well, the display is the same size as the Garmin 396.

You can't be serious. The 1/2/3/496 uses a 3.75" (measured diagonally from corner to corner. That makes the display alone in the 1/2/3/496 2x the size of the AT300's display. It's 2.5" diagonally. If we were to do square area, the Garmin is probably 3 or 4x the size.

Remember the AT300 fits in a 3.125" round hole and then has a square screen that is smaller than the 3.125" hole, plus has to allow for a knob, etc.

I hate to disagree, but this display is less than 1/2 the size of the 396..

Unless you know of another product than this one.

You're right, it is bigger, but once you are at that size, it doesn't seem to make much difference. It is a cool looking unit that fits right in the VSI cut out.
