This weekend I was cruising on autopilot when I suddenly got a voice warning that sounded like "DEFEND DEFEND" (no, not DESCEND). I couldn't find an explanation in the D180 manual, and it was not accompanied by any text warning or alert. I have about 100 hours and 16 months on the plane, and this is the only time it has happened. Any suggestions other than installing chaff and flare dispensers? :)

I have never heard a voice from my D180. I didn't know it had one. Are you sure it was coming from the Dynon?

Have you tried activating shields? ;)

It comes from the AP74 or the HS34 if you have em.

It is saying decend.

Apparently you have your altitude bug on and altitude alarm turned on.

Finally found the "Descend" warning in the manual, but it didn't seem to be valid. I think the Depends warning is "oh S@&$!".

I hate when the equipment I operate is smarter than me!
