I'm getting ready to order a set of Crow harnesses for my RV-6A and noticed they offer two varieties of kam lock buckles: standard or pro formula. I'm familiar with their standard kam lock, but would like to hear from people that have used the pro formula kam lock as to the differences between the two. Is the pro formula thinner than the standard kam lock? Are they operationally identical, just different faces on the kam? Recommendations on which would work better in the RV?

The information that I have is that they have switched all cam locks to the pro version. Not sure if you can get the other style or not. When I called them, they confirmed there is no upgrade charge for the pro style and they hadn't updated their website.

I used the pro style in my Corvette and liked them a lot.

I have the newer style cam-locks in my harnesses from Crow and couldn't be happier. They latch and unlatch easily, are fairly small, and work as advertised. I recently saw a new set of Hooker harnesses and found they are now using the exact same CamLock as Crow.
