Just wondering what the best way is to terminate shielding (around a wire such as the P-lead wires) for connection to a ground post. Can I just twist the shielding together and crimp a regular terminal onto it as i would for normal wire? Or is the shielding too fragile for this? What is the standard approach?

Go to EAA National website. (EAA.org). Click on "Hints for Homebuilders".
Then click on "P lead fabrication".

Phil,
With all due respect, why don't you pull out your credit card and rejoin? It will only take a minute, and then you will have the information that you need.
Plus, you will have a great magazine in your mailbox every month. And, you can post a great write up and picture in the "What our members are building" section.
Take Care!
