I've ordered a new hinge to replace an upper cowling-firewall hinge on which the two bottom eyelets are broken (RV-3).
From browsing the topic on the forums, it seems that most install the hinges in a bed of epoxy/flox in addition to riveting. If the eyelets break again, how hard will it be to remove and replace the epoxied-in-place hinge segment? Has anyone used something like ProSeal or RTV instead of epoxy? If so, how well did it work?
Thanks...Joe
