That sounds about what I have in spots. I ended up altering the shape of my FAB a tad on that left side to make more clearance with the cowl scoop. I could tell that the FAB was hitting down there on startup and shutdown by seeing scuff marks in the foil protective heat shield I had placed there in the cowl scoop.
I suggest that you run the engine a couple times during your checkouts prior to your first flight and check the FAB for scuffing and then you will know where and how much to alter it.
