The van's parts catalog has two part numbers for an RV6/6A with an O- 360. FAB-6-SCOOP-360-1 is for a type S cowl. How does the type S cowl differ from the standard cowl? Are these the same air scoops that some builders put on other models like the seven or nine?

I wonder if it refers to early cowls, that were built before they incorporated a honeycomb structure.
