Does anyone have an up close photo of a cowl air scoop and the vertical draft filtered air box mated together? thanks.

What view are you wanting? Looking in the scoop at the filtered airbox?

Facing the nose, looking into the scoop. I am interested in how the front of the air box is supposed to mate up with the scoop. Is it a matter of building up fiberglass to make it a snug fit, or is there a clearance between the two which would result in air spoiling through that clearance. thanks!

I'll try to get that tomorrow. You can have a gap that gets bridged with baffle seal material. If the gap is small, I have seen some leave the seal off. The ram air is forcing its way in and the engine is sucking as much as it can, but you would still lose a little cram air effect probably with an unsealed opening.
