This question came to me today by email from a local EAA chapter member who is assessing the condition of his Continental O-300 engine. I noticed the same notations in the overhaul manual for small Conti's, too.
"I'm looking at my engine overhaul manual and on the page with the service limits there are the letters L and T beside the number. Does anyone know what these mean?:
The manual shows the following as an example for one limit:
NEW LIMITS SERVICE
MIN MAX LIMIT
.0015T .0005L -
So what DO the T and L letters mean?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in answering this question.
