As I took the wheels apart to replace the tires and grease the bearings, I found the following areas on one wheel half. There are 3 areas of gouging from a screwdriver and a line of small corrosion pits along the bead area. The pits are about the size of ground black pepper flakes. The pictures show what the areas look like after Scotchbriting by hand.

I downloaded the manual from Parker, but it simply says that small nicks, gouges and corrosion should be smoothed out. So I thought I'd ask and see if others have put wheels that look like this back in service.

How much corrosion in this area is too much?
Should I polish it all out?
How deep can the screwdriver gouges be? They are all smooth now and I can't feel them with a fingernail, but I can still see them.

It's okay, just ugly. If the pitting was down lower and more extensive I might think twice. As is, it has been smoothed nd ain't no big deal.

Ok, thanks! I will keep an eye on it, but hopefully they will last a while longer.
