Can anyone tell me what the clearance between the Nose wheel fairing should be on the sides and front and rear to the tire. Ive looked on all plans and documents and there is nothing on the clearance eather to the nose or main wheel farings.

Thanks

I made

sure I could get my fingers in between the tire and the fairing all the way around on all wheel pants and have had no problems (I have had 2 flats already!) I really don't see why anyone would want to get the fairing "as close to the tire as possible" because if you have a flat, it could grab the fairing and make for an ugly day.

Fairing clearance

There's a note on Drawing 45 (RV-8), that says, "1/2 inch clearance (min.) between the fairing and the side of the main gear wheel." I don't see why that measurement wouldn't also apply to the 8a's main gear. I plan on using the 1/2 distance for the nose gear fairing as well, but I didn't see anything in writing.
