Not intended to stir fresh debate NW vs TW. Though not RV but the nosegear is of the same type on Russian made Dolfin. Fork secured with springy washers, nut and a cotter pin. Everything departed in flight and was never found. Pilot did nice job landing aircraft without nosewheel.

ATC notified them on NW missing on short final and sent them go around. Then they spent more than hour circling to burn fuel.
