I am using an input from my electronic ignition to supply a tach signal, so will have to cover the mechanical tach drive port on the engine. ACS has one for around $19 - not huge compared to the other things I have sprung for on the plane, but irritatingly expensive for such a simple thing. Anybody got a cheap alternative?

thanks

Anything that will stay on will work. It's just a dust cover. There are oil seals inside the housing.

Mine was free - no cover at all. I had one on there, but it fell off. My engine builder said to not worry about having a cover.

Glad I asked! I thought oil was gonna spew without a cover.

That ACS cover is even more of a rip off than I thought. Hey, good thing it comes with the little safety wire holes huh? Otherwise it might spin off and there goes $19.
