I am flying a 7A and am thinking about changing it to a tail dragger. Anybody out there going the other way changing tail dragger to an A and want to swap usable parts
 
Check with Cam. He converted his -9A to a -9 last year. The conversion should be the same for the -7.

Who is Cam? Would like to get an idea of what's involved in converting a -6a to a -6. Thanks......

For the 6a you have to:

On the rear

Remove the vertical and horizontal stabs to get access to the rear fuselage bulkheads.
Remove the flat horizontal cover plate that is just below the horiz stab to get access inside the rear fuselage.
Remove the tail wheel tiedown bracket
Add another identical bulkhead that is reversed to the last bulkhead to beef it up.
Install the tailwheel weldment in between the last and the next to last bulkhead. (Have to cut out on bottom of fuselage for weldment to fit and you might have to remove last bulkhead to get weldment installed)
Install tailwheel assembly.

On the front

Replace 6A motor mount with 6 motor mount
Replace main gear legs with different gear legs
Remove main gear leg weldments from cockput.
Remove steps from side of fuselage if installed.
Rerun brake lines
Cover up/fair in old main gear holes and step holes in fuselage.
Make new intersection fairings.
Realign wheel pants?

Probably other things to do as well but that are the main things off the top of my head.
