Trying to find the best material to put between the nose gear fairing and the cowl. I have a fairing that is vibrating or moving slightly, and has not cause any serious problems, but I would like to protect the paint surface on the cowling.

How bout that Teflon tape stuff? It sticks well to a clean surface and holds up to oil for the most part. Cheap to replace when it finally fails.

3M Edge Guard

I have been using 3M edge guard ( I believe it is called). I use it between the fiberglass transition fairing on all the gear legs. Anywhere there maybe relative motion between parts. I also use it on the top skin of the flap where the overhang tucks under the wing top skin. This stuff is great. Won't yellow and is easily removed when needing to be replaced.
