I'm New Here
Hi all, I’m on the hunt for someone who can do a checkout flight in an RV-14a. Insurance requires the instructor to have 25 hours in type.

Anyone happen to know who I should call?

Thanks in advance for any leads!

Surprised you haven’t received a reply yet.
I am a CFI / CFII with over 500 hours in Vans RV’s here in Houston. If no one closer chimes in, I could give you a checkout in your plane.

Thanks Mike. I managed to find someone local via Facebook. I appreciate the offer to help, though!

Most insurance companies recognize a CFI that has a 10 the same type as a 14A, in fact the Vans recognized CFI (Dallas based) will check you out in his 10 and log it as a RV10 and RV14A transition training complete. (Also check you out in his 7 same time, great experience) My insurance company had no issues with this. He's a very good instructor, BTW. (Both his airframes have A/C)

Thank you. After searching i am realizing that this “clause” may be negotiable and perhaps altered. However, I am ok with it, as I want the quality training.
