Hi All
after changing my oil last week I notice that the shaft going into the carburetor for mixture was jigglely like it had .005 to .015 clearance between shaft and casting. Is this normal ?
The idle cutoff works
I can lean the engine
There wasen't any fuel around the shaft.

I was just into the carb area yesterday. ANd yes the mixture operator is kinda loose feeling.

the external lever operates a flexible shaft down in the bottom of the bowl turning a cylinder inside a socket. both socket and cylinder have openings or slots.

When the slots are aligned the mixture valve is open and the vacuum can suck fuel from the bowl.

its all 1940's tractor technology.
