I just ran across some data I recorded on a trip from Santa Maria to Redmond OR. First, the recorded numbers, then the calculated values.
Recorded: 10,500', 15C OAT, 164 mph IAS, 6.3 gph, 2770 rpm, 8C carb, MAP 19.6", PSL 29.94".
Calculated: 12,880' dalt, Pstat 20.19", Pstag 21.1" 199.8 mph TAS , stag. rise 4C.
OAT, 15C, + 4C - 8C = 11C, 19.8F, total temperature drop in the carb. This comes close to C. F. Taylor's typical drop of 24F. Pstag, 21.1", - MAP, 19.6", = 1.5" induction + carb venturi drop.
