I just realized that I must have failed to order my carb heat cable.

What are most people using...black or red? I know mixture is red, but it seems there is some inconsistency in carb heat knob color. I am currently thinking of using the detent bowden cables.

Thanks,
Scott

Van's sells the control/cable (black) Its the same control/cable used for your cabin heat.

Scott,
The builder of my RV-4 used Red for the carb heat since it's right next to the cabin heat on the right side just below the instrument panel, and works for me. The RV-7 layout might not make that much difference on color.

While there is no requirement of color for the carb heat knob, the standard is black.

No requirement for color but some form of labeling is required.

If I recall correctly, the carb heat knob on my old Grumman was white - and it was bought (by the airplane factory) from a lawn-mower company.....:)
