I'm New Here
Caught in some moderate rain last week in my "new" (for me) 1998 IFR RV-6. Imagine my surprise as water began pouring down on my legs - through the avionics! Made it home and pulled all the soggy carpets out - and realized there is no seal at the front of my tip-up canopy - or the rear. Some cheap home-depot sponge rubber applied to the cowling was quickly chewed up with opening/closing of canopy so I suppose seal would have to go on the canopy surface itself. Van's says to ask in the Forum and here I am. Suggestions? Best type of product to use? I bought this plane to fly at least lite IFR so need a canopy that seals. Thanks guys!
