Never liked the look of the lower interior portion of the slider canopy frame on my -7A . Looks a bit industrial and unfinished, especially when juxtaposed above the nice interior side panels from CAD. After some pondering, I tried covering it with a vinyl fabric, gued down with adhesive spray. Didn’t work well, as the canopy frame shape has a slight compound curve which resulted in some lumpyness and wrinkling in the vinyl. So, I bit the bullet , ripped that out and got out my fiberglassing kit. Taped up the area with packing tape and layed down four layers of fiberglass. Popped that off after hardening and covered it with adhesive and stretchy headliner fabric in a color that matched pretty well with my interior. Installed and held in place with just a couple spots of shoe goo.

I like it! Much better looking than before. Very light weight and not hard to make. A yard of the headliner cost me about $20. If anyone is interested Im happy to share a few more details on the process.

regards
