Did a search, I now I saw it, but can't find it...doesn't someone make an alternative latch mechanism for the tip-ups (to replace the Van's stock thinkie that sticks out of the side when it's closed and latched)? Can someone help me locate this aftermarket part?

Key lock?

I noticed that this said it can be used with the standard tumbler key lock. Anyone have any pictures of this installed, including a pic from the outside? It's not totally clear to me how the latch is opened/operated from the outside.

Yes. A standard tumbler that comes with the mag switch can be used. It involved milling a groove in the latch handle. I will get some pictures in the next time I am at the hangar.
