Canopy cover, cowling plugs & gust locks

Hi Jim,

Here is what I use and like:

Canopy cover - "lightweight" cover from Vans, works great and great for traveling.

Cowling plugs - pieces of foam mattress type rubber cut to fit cowling and air intake. Attach (sew) some lightweight webbing that goes over the prop to make sure you don't leave plugs in place.

Gust locks - seat belts for ailerons / elevators. Drill holes in rudder stops and use a bent piece of hinge wire with a streamer attached for rudder. Flaps down.

Good luck,

Steve

Hey Steve, thanks!

This is a very interesting site. Thanks for the gust lock ideas.

I watched your circuit video, very cool. My home field was 1800 feet and that was considered short!
