Planning a major wiring overhaul soon and will eventually go with Skyview with all the ADS-B in/out magic, but not quite yet. In anticipation of this upgrade I'm wondering if I can install the Dynon 261 remote transponder and drive it as a Mode A/C with the serial ports on the GTN (for control) and the serial ports on the D180 for the encoder?

Down the road when Skyview gets installed, I simply plug it into the network and I'm good to go as intended.

Sound feasible?

That does sound awesome but unfortunately it won't work. The protocols for the Garmin transponders which the 750 can control and the Dynon transponder are not the same.

The thing that got me thinking about it though is when I read that the Skyview display can talk to and control the GTX-327 remotely just as the 650 can. It stands to reason that if the Skyview and GTN "speak the same language" with regards to the GTX, then why cant the GTN talk to the 261?
