Has anyone ever cut a camera port in their canopy? I most noticed how poor my pix were when flying to AK. pix thru the canopy were OK, those from the ground spectacular. between the gray tint and the poor optics I wondered about cutting a port that could be opened for a camera lens. bonanzas have a little window that can be opened, for instance.

I was told by a brilliant engineer that RV canopies are very stressed while in flight and any tinkering with it will result in a crack. Unlike on this LSA :)

However I've seen a small opening in RV canopy at exactly the same location at Oshkosh but it was too small for lenses to fit.

Two things help.

1. Photoshop. Run your pix through the auto-correct, and most of the gray tint caused by the canopy goes away.

2. Mount a GoPro on the wing. Wow, are those pictures amazingly clear!
