I'm finally installing the cabin heat cable (part no. CT A-740) up to the control panel and down to the firewall recess (RV-7). My cable seems way too long. I can't find anywhere in the plans where it says "cut to length" or anything like that. Seems like I need to. You guys cut these to length when you installed or coil the cable to shorten it (which I do not want to do)?

Pull the cable out a little and cut the sheathing. Then cut the cable to length. At this point in the plans, Van's doesn't provide detailed instructions. Moreover, the length would vary from builder to builder depending on the placement of the knob. Good luck.

Worked like a champ, thanks Steve. I've grown paranoid about cutting/drilling/grinding anything I'm not sure of....
