I have the regular prop gov (not MT). The control lever faces down as it is currently installed on my engine (Superior IO-360). In vans drawings it faces up. Do I need to reorient this? If so, do I have to rotate the entire unit by removing it from the crankcase and then will it need a new gasket? Can the work be done while the engine is on the plane...it is pretty tight back there?

Thanks!

Which governor is this? Is this is the Jihistoru..or however in the world you spell it?

If so, you just loosen the screws on the back of the governor and rotate the rear plate into the position you would like it, then re-safety the screws. No biggie. I fretted over doing it for a while and it turned out to be no big deal.

Here's my governor after rotation:

And on the engine....
