I'm New Here
We are building an RV8A. We have an IO-360 with the airscoop attached to the bottom cowl. I need to find a bypass valve which attaches to the top of the airbox to allow alternate air to the engine in the event of icing or some other clogging situation. Appreciate any information as to what type, brand, & where I can get one. Thanks, Gary B.

I dont know about the -8, but my -10 has one as part of the kit.

Simple, easy to install/operate sliding plate covering a hole in the bottom of the airbox.

I would start by checking out what Vans supplies.

Good luck------

Bypass

Check with Will James at James aircraft. They make one to work with their holy cowl for the RV-8 that you might be able to adapt to your situation.

Bypass Valve

Thanks for the help. Van's won't work for us. We are building a manually operated sliding plate with a quick disconnect on the control horn, we can lower the bottom cowl enough to allow access to reach in and disconnect the wire from the control horn. Regards, Gary B. Grass Valley
