Air Drill

I would first research a little more and find out the RPM rating of that model.

For building an RV, get yourself a decent 1/4" palm drill. The small size and weight will reduce fatigue and fit in tight places. I have a CP palm drill and a larger 3/8 CP air drill I bought off e-bay. I have yet to use the 3/8 drill on the plane. On the flip-side, you would have to pry the 1/4" palm drill from my cold dead hand to get it. Just spend the $125 on a decent CP palm drill on move on.

I also have a portable electric drill I use all the time for countersinks, step drills ect. Having a low-speed drill around also is a plus.

looks heavy

That drill looks heavy. I agree with the other posters. Spend a little more money on a good, light, drill.

No...9,000 rpm.....nope..

Get a nice drill:

1. Pan American Mini Palm with keyless chuck get the 4,000 RPM model

2. Sioux 3600 RPM palm

3. Brown tool also has the Sioux as the 1412 model (don't get the 1410, its only 2600 RPM..get the 1412 which is 3600 RPM)

You're going to drill 20,000 holes...better get a good machine.

Because of Santa I now have both.....

A close relative bought me the Pan American keyless Chuck Mini Palm for xmas. 4000 rpm it ZIPS thru aluminum. Not quite as loud as the Sioux.

You need a "palm drill" with a 1/4" chuck. If fact two palm drills are not a bad idea. Keep a sharp #40 jobber drill bit in one drill motor for 3/32" rivets and a #30 jobber bit in the other drill motor for 1/8" rivets. That way you don't have to change drill bits every time you need a different size hole.

Also, 1/4" palm drills have the high RPM's you need for clean holes in thin aluminum. Aircraft Tool Supply Co. has a nice little drill that sells for $79.95 which would be ideal. Part number ATS 6100
