Did my trim tab today, came out well except it doesn't have the nice, straight taper I was able to get with the elevators. When I bent it with the homemade brake I almost completely flattened it. The radius at the t/e is okay, but after all was put together it is bulged about 1/16" in the middle; not real obvious just looking at it but a ruler will not lay flat. No problems with the end bends and everything lined up nicely with the elevator.

I tried using the vise-grip seamers gently like I did on a few spots on the elevators between stiffeners (with good results) but no help on the trim tab as the bulge is in the middle where they won't reach. I also tried pressing in with my palms, running down the length but the metal will not, "form in" it just bounces back.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
