I've had my RV-8 insured and covered in the garage through a rider on my homeowners policy.

Moving the project to Moton Field (06A) mid-October and will need real "builders insurance" as I wrap up the project there.

Looking for recommendations on insurers. Already talked to some last year and will have to pull out the file, but just want updated rec's on anyone you all have used and like and best price.

Obviously it seems better to use the same company for flight insurance.

In my experience ...

...there wasn't much difference (like, almost none) in the quoted cost from the various insurers. You pay basically 1% of the insured value. Flying policies, OTOH, vary quite a bit from one insurer to another.
