The dwg. says to drill the hole to mount the master cylinder 5/16" from both edges but I read on someones website a recommendation to place the hole a little higher. Has anyone else here gone that route?

I did mine exactly per plans, and haven't had any trouble with brake throw or feel. Making it different might be better - I wouldn't know - but what I did work fine!

Thanks. I don't know how anyone came up with the idea to drill the hole higher and the guy who did it has not flown his 8 yet so I can not be convinced to deviate. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of those things "everyone knows you do that"; except me.

His theory is that you are less likely to accidentally hit the brake because the top of the pedal angles further fore. And it will require a little more foot pressure to actuate the master cylinder. My thought is: if you push the braking zone of the pedal with your foot, it won't really matter if the top angles more fore or not.
