What chemical is best for cleaning the brakes when servicing them? Best way to get all the gunk and dirt build-up off? One of the LPS products?

thanks

Re: Brake Cleaning

I use brake cleaner from Walmart and a parts cleaning brush from Harbor Freight with a drip pan from the aviation aisle of Kragan. Dan

Brake cleaner not only works great as a degreaser, it also works great as a paint stripper. It took the paint right off my wheels and erased the placard that was on there too:eek:

It's all part of the education I'm getting from building and maintaining my own airplane.

i USE A PRODUCT CALLED "BLAST" from P+S car care products. It is used with water, cleans well and is easy on paint.
