Like many others, I've had difficulty inserting the brass insert into the Nylon brake line. The -14 plans call for routing the line through bushings which barely allow for the 1/4" tubing; thus the fittings need to be installed after the hose line is routed.

I looked up the Parker catalogue and found that the brass insert for the 1/4" OD Paraflex tubing with .062" wall thickness should be .33" long and .110" OD. The one shipped from vans measures .44" long and .1375" OD. This makes them very hard to insert. The instructions call for drilling out the tube, which conflicts with Parker's installation method.

Does anyone know why are the inserts oversize? Is there a technical reason?
