Morning VAF-

A little motivation has got me back into building my kit- and reminded me of what de-motivated me in the first place... The gosh darn Z brackets.

After the first attempt and fail with the Vans instructions, I proceeded via the Chec.... Ahem the Hurlbut Method and still wound up with some bad results:

As you can see the holes are way too close to the spar web, and the pop-rivet tool (pre-shaved) will not fit:

The tank fit beautifully and the inboard bracket aligned well:

I'm hoping for a "build on" from the community- will this tool

be the solution?

Thanks in advance VAF.

rivet tool

I would. Find someone willing to loan it out.
I had a similar problem and had to remake a full set. Mine was shifted off top to bottom by 1/32". The Hurlbut method worked perfect for me.

I have that tool and it is very useful. I've found several situations where it was the only thing that would work.

Build on!
