Not sure if this is posted in the right place but someone will, no doubt, keep me right ;-)

I have two Bose X headsets that I use in my RV-12. Is it practical (impedence?) to plug these into the headphone socket on commercial flights (obviously without the mike). If so, what adapter do I need?

Thanks...Keith

I think line level would work just fine, so 1/4" to 1/8" phono adapter from radio shack.

I've done that several times on 11 hour long haul flights. It works very well for either listening to the in-flight entertainment or just cancelling out the background noise. I use a lead with 1/8" plug and 1/4" socket as you're less likely to damage the plug by accidentally knocking it.

Last time I did the same using my QT Halo. It takes less space in your carry-on than a headset bag.

I've used my Lightspeed on a commercial flight, but I find it really bulky to pack around on trips.
