Today was a first...shooting a couple approaches at a grass strip to the north of Boise when a bird flew in front of me. I'm not sure what kind of bird it was...maybe a Robin or something, but he manage to completely go through my prop untouched...and then solidly come in contact with my cowl. What a mess. :(

I'm lucky he wasn't 2 inches lower because he would've gone directly into the air intake. Fortunately, there was no damage at all.
 
On take off in my -12 (unpainted) I hit a bird on the right wing right on one of the rivet lines. There was skin and feathers stuck to the wing, but no damage.

Glad you were okay too! :D
 
Thanks guys...I was a bit surprised at there being no damage. All the previous "bird strike" stories had me expecting the worst! :)
