Just checking to see what my options are for a basic fiberglass question...

In order to make my FAB opening fit the cowl inlet, I had to cut a slit in the fiberglass box as per plans. I now have about a 1/8" slit about 3" tall on both sides. What's the best way to patch it up? Specifically, what's the best way to deal with the gap? Should I just add a couple layers of fiberglass on the outside of the box over the slit or should I do something to the inside of the box as well? Should I fill the very narrow slit with something (epoxy, micro, flox, etc.) before layering over one or both sides of it? I want to keep the inside profile as original as possible, and as smooth as possible.

Thanks.

Layer of Glass on the outside...

A layer or two on the outside is sufficient. I did not fill the gap with anything.
