Which is the best [most informative] builder website for the "8" ?
Wish Dan had documented the build of his 8 :)
Thanks

I suggest you take a look at Kevin Horton's website for a meticulously detailed depiction of building with tremendous attention to detail and decision making process.

You owe it to yourself to take a look at Randy Pflanzer's rocket site to see how high the bar can be set.

Randy Lervold's websites (8 and 3) have lots of good information too.

Jim Daniel's site

This is one of the best I have seen with step by step detailed shots of a slow build:

http://home.comcast.net/~jwdanie/

Meticulous builder who took copious notes - great job on the plane and the detailed site.

Happy building,

Rob

I agree! Jim's website is where I look first for RV-8 tips. Randy's site is great too, but is more of an overview instead of a step-by-step log of the building process.

All of 'em!

I used most of the sites that folks have already mentioned here - Kevin Horton, Jim Daniels, Randy Lervold - as well as Bill Vodane's and Michey Coggin's. When i needed to see something, I'd just cruise down the list on Van's site until I found someone that had photo-documented the part I wanted. That really was my introduction to building with "partners" on the internet....I don't know how people did homebuilts before the web came along.....

I agree 100% with Ironflight but would add that Dave DeRidders site rules for pics.. You know what they say: A pictures worth a thousand words.

Not the best, but..

I have some stuff at http://home.comcast.net/~n70ge. It's certainly not the best website by a long shot, but I tried to document problem areas and/or stuff that didn't work quite right or according to plan.

I also tried not to repeat much that can be found on the "usual" websites -- all of which I visited multiple times during construction.

The best.... And a shameless plug

www.RV-8.com

Randy Lervold's

(IMHO)

I second that. It certainly inspired me to build a -8. I know that you asked about -8 websites, but I must add Brad Oliver's site at http://www.rv7factory.com and Dan Checkoway's at http://www.rvproject.com. Since many of the components used on the -7 and -8 are similar, those sites have already helped me tremendously in my -8 construction.

If I may, I'll add a shameless plug to my own at http://www.toadsrv8.com - I am only in the initial stages of construction (Rudder), but I hope to create a site a la Dan or Brad's with day-by-day accounts of the building process.
