I am considering flying to this event on May 3, 2008. I am fairly familiar with the racing part and I have been to Sun 'n' Fun and Oshkosh and I was in the Air Force (l-o-o-o-n-g ago)so general stuff is not that important to me. We have kind of a short fuse to get into this air race and the situation is different than at a normal civilian airport. I know the race was cancelled by weather last year but those of you that went there experienced the ground organization, facilities, etc. Can you provide some insight to what an entrant can expect? Arrival, parking, crowd control, movement of airplanes into hangar, access to the base and airplane, freedom to depart, getting to a motel and back, or anything else you think it is important to know would be appreciated.
