Hello all,
The RV8A Fastback is progressing well. Just about to start the task of battery area design in the lower section of the forward locker.
We are thinking along the lines of a 24V system, any ideas out there on the best choice for the small area we have to play with. (IO-360 Engine)
Also we will fit an external power receptacle, may come in handy one day.
If you have one that you?re proud of, I would like to know your thoughts.

Wet and cold in Newcastle, good time to build.

Cheers

24v?

Why 24v? If you have not yet read the book available at http://www.aeroelectric.com/ then I recommend it. It gives some pretty convincing arguments for 12v systems, and a whole lot of other great information about how to wire your aircraft.

I agree with the change to 12 v.

What are you gonna hook up the external power receptacle up to at most airports anyways?

 CJ

I agree with the 12V position. Also I have built 2 RV8's, one 8 and one 8a. Both 0360 powered, both nose heavy, both with the odysee battery in the back. I highly recomend the battery in the back on the nose heavy RV8.
