I'm cutting baffle seal cloth for O-320 RV-9A (-6 cowl). Into the rear corner it curves down. On the left side I slit and relieved it where it rivets down, but since I've now riveted and fit the forward parts (where it hits the inlet ramps) I'm thinking this was over-thinking the problem.

Can the baffle seal cloth really be that simple?

I'm probably not an expert on this subject but mine is that simple. I can remember initially the cloth didn't want to lay perfectly against the top cowl particularly around the inlet ramps had some creases. After 60 hours of flying it seems to have molded itself to those areas and seals nearly perfect from what I can tell.

I did slit the rear corners then folded them over each other like they would be with the top cowl on. Then zip tied the two pieces in this folded position.
