I'm trying to figure out how high I can put the audio panel without interfering with the tip-up canopy structure. The PS Engineering audio panel is 7.15 inches deep. I'll probably do a mock-up tomorrow, but anybody know how far down from the top of the panel it needs to be?

Thanks,
Dave

Morning, Dave!

This is exactly the reason I opted to put the switches in a row up top (they don't take up much room). I don't have an exact measurement, but here's a pic of my setup so you can see where some of the interferances occur:

Thanks Doug. That's a good idea to put the switches along the top, but I think I can still make it work.

I made a side-view template showing the depth of each avionics box and crawled into the fuselage with the canopy installed and lowered. Looks like the audio panel needs to be at least 1.5" from the top of the panel. That will avoid interference with the tip-up reinforcement and provide enough room for the wires in the back.
