I have a Blue Mountain EFIS Lite Plus installed in my RV-6 and have frequent problems with it overheating during the warm weather months. Blue Mountain says I should direct vent air up behind the panel. However, I heard that this can create problems because of all the moisture which will be introduced as well. I'm thinking about fabricating a cooling shroud for just the EFIS unit and running air into it from the avionics cooling fan. The EFIS fits into a standard 3 1/8" instrument hole and is about 6" deep. Has anyone ever dealt with a problem like this before?
