Open-Source Glass
I'm working on a pretty cool, totally open-source project. It's not done... just in the middle, but I'm far enough to know it could actually work, and I thought some of you might find it interesting.
The premise is simple... Glass cockpits are expensive and totally proprietary. There are active open-source alternatives, but they're far behind the for-profit. I'm trying to fill the functional gap.
It's all based an update I'm making to the Avare (Android app) with a Synthetic Vision PFD tab. Add to that a BlueTooth linked air/engine-data collector you can build yourself. And while I'm at it, autopilot using a Quad-copter inspired 2-axis AP / trim on tabs.
