On the area 796 can you get XM weather and GDL39 weather at the same time? If so how is it displayed on the unit? Furthermore are there an quick button options like on the 496 where I push the on-off button quickly and the brightness and volume options appear?

if it's anything like the 696, which i'm sure it is, you simply have to select the weather source, or set it to "AUTO" in which case it will pick for you

Hello John,

Yes, if an aera 796 has access to both SXM and FIS-B weather data it is capable of displaying data from either source, as desired.

Just like your GPSMap 496, pressing and releasing the power button on the aera 796 is a quick shortcut to access settings for display brightness and audio volume.
