Just want to pass on to Forum readers the outstanding technical support I received from Klaus and Jenny of Lightspeed Engineering fame in attempting to resolve an out of the blue problem with the Lightspeed ignition on my 400 hour -8A. While we never could determine root cause of a total - vice 2 cylinder - coil failure, their very patient, detailed conversations, and offer of spare parts for troubleshooting eventually fixed the problem. It was a pleasure working with them.

For those interested in the ops details - high inflight EGTs caused me to do run up check on landing. Electronic ignition totally dead. Troubleshooting revealed one suspect coil - that subsequently checked good in Klause's shop! Other coil seemed ok, so the standard failure mode would be rough runner, not total shutdown. Replaced suspect coil and carefully cleaned all connections after eliminating usual continuity / CB / Coax suspects. Another case of electron FM (friggin' magic) and system worked fine.
