I'm going to be upgrading to the 406Mhz Artex 345 Elt. I think it has a built in GPS but I can't find the info on their website and I'm trying to find out if it has a separate gps antenna. I need to plan a spot for it if it's not built in.

Anyone got one of these?

I have one, you need to feed it GPS data via whatever protocol the unit is programmed for. I believe it is NMEA 0183, my g3x feeds it. This narrow s down the search area to something like a 100 feet I think. If you don't feed it the GPS, then I think the search area diameter is a couple miles. Look for the install PDF on their website, I know it's there.
