I'm finalizing my finish kit order. I think in the past Van's included a plastic vent that was pretty bad, but that's no longer part of the kit. Do they include the newer vents as part of the kit, or do I need to add vents and scat ducting to the order?

When I built my -9A several years ago, the plastic vents were included. Pretty leaky so I did not use them. The -14A I am building now did not come with vents. Van's confirmed they are no longer included. Buy the good aluminum vents from Stein.

Vans still sells two versions

Greg Hughes posted a video on their current air vents- the nicely milled aluminum version, but now also a 3D printed version. I just bought the printed version and it closes tight and works well. Just a little stiffer in angle/ directional adjustment- but this might loosen over time. They are over half the price of the aluminum ones. (65$ versus 160$). But again over the life of the plane?
